Many people claim to have difficulty writing; that so-and-so seems to have been born writer and sicrano will never know where the damn comma should be … And it’s true! This can all happen. But we do not believe that this fact is due to destiny. This, no matter how famous, will cease to exist, if followed some tips that we will share today in this post.
Learning follows a natural course
Everything in life has a natural course: first the button is born, then the flower; the chicken lays the eggs and shocks them for 21 days, until the chicks are born; when you want to communicate in the first few months, the baby just cries or laughs. Then, listening to his parents talk, and when their instruments of vocal communication develop, he learns to speak. In a way, good writing also follows a course. However, because this activity is not a physiological process, since it is linked to the intellect, some procedures are necessary.
From literacy to high school, most people receive standard formal education; they learn to draw letters, to form syllables, and to write the first words. They acquire knowledge of the orthographic and grammatical rules, while the development of writing and reading occurs concomitantly: through reading they practice text interpretation and with writing they answer questionnaires and express their own ideas.
In this period of life, some people are already starting to excel in writing. Because? Because they are harmoniously combining the reading and writing ingredients. They realize that good reading objectively favors good writing. They do not read only to find the answers, but they learn to observe the text in a deeper way, analyzing the resources applied in them and their effect on the passage of each information. It is here, and only here, that the good writer begins to be “begotten.”
It is not only good reading that provides the ability to write, but the practice of writing. It is necessary to perfectly combine these two activities, adopting the habit of writing daily. The fluency in writing will come only with practice; and will be enriched to the extent that reading is also performed.
Every good writer is also a critical reader
Those who practice what is said above not only understand better the message of each text read, but realize if it is (or not) of good quality and even if there is some kind of problem. He naturally learns that each text must not only convey a message but that it must be clear to the intended reader.
The regular practice of reading and writing always delivers discoveries and even the development of new techniques. Over time, writing can be carried out in an increasingly natural way, without much need of searching, every time, mentally, an idea is established.
Anyway, if you feel any kind of difficulty writing, we suggest you try to review your relationship with reading. Do not contemplate reading as a purely informative activity. Interact with the spirit of each writer; try to know a little of his mind, his style. Observe the features he has used (signaling, griffins, effects, etc.) that have aroused his admiration, and gradually try to adapt them to his own writing. Adopt the habit of writing now!
Start slowly, but keep going!
Begin by producing reflective texts on some subject that you master. If you love to do trails, for example, try to describe what this activity means for your life; but do it in such a way that whoever reads your text respects your relationship with the path because you have understood exactly what it means in your life. Gradually – and it will not take long – this activity will become so natural that it can also become fun.
Every text always begins in the mind, as a block of ideas. Then, as each word is being written, such ideas leap from that block to reveal the structure of their thinking. Writing is really a wonderful activity. This text is being written like this. And so it ended!
